Mickledore House
The complete restoration of this Victorian town house in central Keswick was undertaken with local craftsmen.
We were involved from the initial space planning to the design and layout of every room . As the finished house is a boutique Airbnb property the practicality and budget had to be thought through at every stage.
The kitchen was a standard off the shelf product but with a joiner to customise the details it was enhanced , the oak dining tables and built in boot room units were also custom designed for the house.
The overall feel was for retaining Victorian detailing while bringing in more modern twists to keep with the feel of the cliental that would holiday in the property. Furniture and quirky pieces were sourced at local auctions and upcycled. We found some incredible bargains that were transformed. The colours throughout the reception rooms and hallways had to flow over three floors so Farrow and Ball blues and neutrals were the base of the scheme. The seven bedrooms were all given an individual flavour while the six bathrooms were classically fitted but personalised with accent colour .
