Kirkfell Cottage
We worked with our team on this traditional Lakeland stone cottage to completely restore it having stood unloved and empty for a number of years. Every room was completely refurbished and turned into a warm and cosy home.
Colour and texture was a key to our brief sourcing from local companies where possible. The colour palette is warm and earthy reflecting the landscape, while textures come from wool curtains, sheepskin throws and handmade pieces of furniture. Artworks were sourced locally and a whole map wall was created which certainly has the wow factor.
The kitchen was handmade then cleverly distressed to fit in with the Lakeland country feel and the walls were plastered with a rough finish to look authentic .
In the snug, a vibrant wall colour combined with velvet and tweed created a cosy space, while a door was blocked up and bespoke elm shelves fitted to maximise storage .
